The Oxford Dictionary defines a Prefect as a
"senior pupil in school, authorized to maintain discipline".

In Junyuan, a prefect may not be a 'senior' pupil. We just have to maintain the discipline. Some of our duties are carrying out
spot - checks ensuring correct attire is worn, students
obeying school rules and checking on late comers.
Besides all these duties, we still have: -

- We organise some of the school events, such as the secondary one orientation and Teachers' Day celebrations. We have to ensure that these events will run smoothly on the day itself.

- We sold drinks and snacks as a type of fund-rasing for the school and the needy pupils in our school. For example, we sold mineral water, Cheeze - IT and Fudge, during our Annual Cross Country and Post Exam Activities time.

- Junyuan Prefects are more than just Prefects: we are ushers and even food vensors.
